Treasure Chest Cake

A treasure chest cake would be perfect for a pirate party to use as your pirate cake.
It would also be the perfect scavenger hunt cake for a scavenger hunt or treasure hunt.

How to Make a Money Cake
Another fun thing to do would be to make this into a money cake. Wrap actual coins in tin foil (you'd never be able to get them clean enough to actually put into a cake. Halfway thru baking, take the cake out of the oven and insert the coins randomly into the cake. Return cake to the oven. Your guests will be surprised to find actual money inside the cake! (not a good idea for little kids though who might swallow the money!)
