New Years Party Games: trivia, left-right, mad libs

Good old fashioned New Years Eve Party Ideas can be found here!

Keep in mind that your new years eve party may be a "come and go" event for some folks. They may have more than one party to attend and will try to hit as many as they can. You'll also have some friends who will be with you all evening until the party ends.

With an assortment of good food and friends (and maybe a good party game or two) your new year celebration will be a great success!

Here are some fun ideas for you:

Homemade New Years Eve Invitations

  • Create a calendar with date the date 12/31/XXXX circled, and the party info written on the 12/31 date.
  • Make a list of resolutions, with attending your party at the top of the list!

  • New Year Decorations

You'll probably still have your Christmas tree up, right (sometimes it takes me a L-O-N-G time to get mine taken down...) Just leave that Christmas tree where it is, and swap the Christmas decorations for New Years Eve party items. You could decorate with horns, blow-outs and party hats.

If you are done with the Christmas tree, a black, silver and gold always give a classy and elegant look, as does a classic black and white party.

    Easy Party Games and Activities

  • Let each person tell something they are thankful for or list a resolution.
  • Play any of the games from our adult party game list.
  • Printable Games are an easy and popular choice.

  • Party Food and Appetizers

  • I love the idea of setting out snacks and appetizers. Especially if people will be coming and going from your party. After midnight you could set out some breakfast items for everyone to enjoy before they go home.
  • Here is a favorite recipe:
  • Sausage & Cheese Muffins

    1lb pork sausage

1 can condensed cheddar cheese soup, undiluted

    1/2 cup milk

    2-3 tsp rubbed sage

    3 cup Bisquick

Cook sausage until no longer pink; drain. In a bowl, combine soup, milk, sage and sausage. Stir in  the Bisquick until moistened. Fill greased miniature muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Recipe makes 4 dozen mini muffins.

  • If you are thinking of a formal New Years Eve Party, you might enjoy doing a classic dinner party.

  • New Years Eve Party Ideas for Favors

Morning after mugs can be appreciated by all! Purchase some inexpensive mugs and stick a packet of coffee in each. If your party will include drinks, you may want to include alka seltzer and aspirin!
