Kids party food recipes have one thing in common - kid friendly food along with cake!

Girl with Cake

Favorite kid party food usually includes chicken tenders, hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwiches and pizza.

Sometimes kid parties become a simultaneous adult party too. If that is the case, perhaps a cookout with grilled burgers and hot dogs or a BBQ would make everyone happy!

The most popular kid cake choices are chocolate, vanilla, or marble - a mixture of both. But another popular birthday cake trend at the moment is the birthday cupcake! Cookie cakes are always popular too for a birthday cake.

For drinks, juice boxes or juice pouches are an easy option. Another good idea is to have small bottles of water or sodas. It is my experience that there truly are some kids who don't like sodas - so have a few bottles of water just in case for those kids. Always get the small size cans and bottles. They tend to just take a few sips, and then set it down - you won't have any idea which drink belongs to which kid!

Fun Recipes for Kids Party Food

Caterpillar Biscuit Snacks

  • Refrigerator Biscuits
  • Seseme or Poppy Seeds
  • Grated Cheese
  • Pretzel sticks
  • Raisins
  • Butter or Margarine, melted

Use two biscuits and form four small dough balls. Dip the dough balls into the melted butter and then roll them in seeds or cheese. Press the balls together on a cookie sheet to form a caterpillar. Bake the biscuits according to the directions on the package. When the biscuits are done, you can poke raisins onto the ends of two pretzel sticks and press them into the heads of the biscuit caterpillar for antennae.

Snack Mix

  • 1 package semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 6 cups Crispix cereal
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips on high for 1 minute. Stire and heat for another 30 seconds or until melted. Stir in peanut butter. Gently stir in Crispix cereal until evenly coated. Place powdered sugar in 2-gallon storage bag. Add coated cereal to sugar and close bag. Gently toss cereal mixture until evenly coated. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.
