Girls Beauty Night

About once every few years a group of friends and I get together for a girls beauty night or girls weekend slumber party. Since the goal it to relax and get away from our daily responsibilities, school, jobs, boyfriends... we book a hotel room and meet there. The night usually starts with a good dinner at a nice restaurant. Then we stop at a drug store for our ‘supplies’: beauty products, nail polish, hair dye, magazines and munchies. We spend the night talking, doing each others’ hair and nails, reading articles out loud and eating. One night everyone changed hair colour. We dyed a friend’s very long blonde hair bright red and the bathroom looked like we had slaughtered something. In the middle of the night we called housekeeping to request twelve more towels. I wonder what the maid thought! The party ends late in the morning with a good breakfast before we all return home with a new look and start the countdown until the next girls night.
