Ice Cream Social

If you are looking for a fun, easy event, an ice cream social could be the answer. Nothing is better than ice cream for a hot summer day!

They are easy to plan for, and family friendly.

You can provide the ice cream (several flavors, or just chocolate and vanilla), plus all the trimmings - hot fudge, caramel, etc. Don't forget the toppings such as marshmellows, M&Ms, Reese's, crushed oreos, sprinkles, cherries, whipped cream, you can go on and on!

Here are some more ideas you can use:

  • Have everyone bring a container of their favorite ice cream and the host can provide the toppings.

  • Make and serve a batch of homemade ice cream at the party.

  • If you are looking for a quick and easy fundraising party, think ice cream! Have everyone on the committee bring ice cream and toppings, and then charge admission.

  • One of the visitors to this site told us about a fun outdoor party game called Scream Ice Cream! Try it at your next party!

  • Another fun idea is to do the old egg and spoon game, but instead have a ping pong ball and an ice cream scooper. This, along with other old-fashioned games can be a lot of fun.

  • Have a race with everyone balancing an ice cream cone on their head.

  • Team up and make a sundae. Lie down head to head and feed each other. Messy but fun!

    Want to Make Your Ice Cream Really Special? Mix it!



    How about finding some ways to mix in some special ingredients to your favorite carton of chocolate and vanilla, similar to how it is done at ice cream parlors. This will make your ice cream social the talk of the town!

    To mix easily, the ice cream should be softened. Scatter some of your "mix items" out in a long dish. Cover with ice cream. Cover ice cream with more mix items, Then cover again with ice cream. Then, gently fold the mix items into the ice cream. Afterwards, place back into the freezer in an appropriate container and freeze for about an hour.





    To make your own "Rocky Road" ice cream

    Mix the following:

  • Chunks of brownies
  • Chopped marshmallows
  • Chopped walnuts
  • Softened Chocolate Ice Cream

    Other popular mix items:

  • M&M's
  • Crushed Peppermint
  • Reese's
  • Crushed oreos
