Maple Peanut Mix

by Christy
(Dallas)

At our bunco game last night, we had the yummiest Maple Peanut Mix. I love M&M's at bunco, but this was a great alternative! We couldn't get enough of this great finger food.

This makes a big batch, but it will keep and make a yummy snack to munch on after the party too.

1 cup maple syrup
2 Tbsp butter, melted
8 cups cocktail peanuts
2 to 3 tsp. crushed red pepper
3 cups pretzel sticks
2 cups dried cranberries
12 oz. milk chocolate bar, broken into bite-size pieces

Heat over to 350 degrees.

Line two baking sheets with alumnimum foil. Grease foil set aside.

In a bowl stir together syrup and butter and then stir in peanuts and the crushed red pepper.

Place half of the mixture in a single layer in one baking pan, half in the other pan.

Bake uncovered for 20 minutes, stirring twice.

Stir 1 1/2 cups pretzels and 1 cup cranberries into each pan.

Coat two large sheets of heavy foil with nonstick cooking spray and spread mixture onto foil.

Cool and break into clusters. Place in your serving dish and mix in chocolate pieces.
