have a team of 4 kids and a swimming pool and things all the way at the bottom and let them try to reach for it

PIN THE TAIL
make a poster of a mermaid and make as many cardboard fin tails to pin on who ever is the closest wins a prize

COLOR THE MERMAID
while the kids are waiting for more guests to arrive give them a coloring page to color with their name on it then put them in a shoe box with a slot in the middle and scramble it up whosoever name is pulled out gets first in line for food
