At our daughter's first birthday party we decided to start a special memory tradition. We had family over for dinner and cake (and presents of course).
Then we took a plaster impression of her hand. We had bought a kit at the store, but you could do it just as easily with some plaster of paris and a pie tin - that is basically what the kit consisted of.
But anyway, it is a special memory to have her handprint on her first birthday.
