Here are some sample menus that might make it a little easier when planning your party!
What you decide to serve will in large part depend on these factors:
Number of people you will be serving
What help, if any, you'll have with serving food
If food will be served seated, or buffet style
Keep in mind that these are just suggestions of easy party foods. Serve things that you will like to eat, as well as your guests!
Corn on the Cob
Make sure you set out all the fixings - ketchup, pickles, etc.
Teriyaki or Pineapple Chicken
Mixed Green salad
Hawaiian Sweet bread
Bacon or Sausage Balls
Strawberries or other fresh fruit
Tea Sandwiches (some of favorites are cucumber/cream cheese or walnuts/celery/cream cheese or crushed pineapple/cream cheese) *Note that with tea sandwiches, it is easier to cut the crusts of the bread if you refrigerate it first!

Around the World Menu
(great ideas for this party theme are on our adult party ideas page.)
Germany: Brats, German Potato Salad, Swedish Meatballs
Italy: Pasta Bar with a variety of sauces, green salad, bread
Mexico: Taco Bar
Ireland: Corned Beef and Cabbage, Irish Stew, Potatoes
Chinese Food: Great fried rice and egg rolls
OK. I'll have to stop here because I'm too hungry!! But hopefully these ideas will give you a starting point while you brainstorm what food to serve at a party.
Most of these menus can be served by yourself. If you are having a large formal dinner party, you might look into hiring a server or someone to help you in the kitchen. Often a teenager or college student are happy to take on this task!
