A Dessert Party is the perfect ending to a night out or be part of a progressive dinner. It can also be a fun fundraising party or way to celebrate an adult birthday party.

They are easy to plan for, and family friendly.

Several years ago I worked in an office and our branch won an important goal. There were seven of us in the office, and as a reward, we were given a private mini-bus with driver, a nice budget and the day off. We spent the day shopping, having lunch and going to ride go-carts! And we finished the day at a great little dessert spot - that is all they carried. It was the perfect ending to the perfect day.

You can also have a dessert party as an easy fundraiser. Just have a committee bring desserts and then charge admission!

If you'd like to put out a dessert spread, get creative. And nothing is better (to me at least) than getting creative with desserts!

Some ideas include:

Cakes

Pies (don't forget the whipped cream)

Breads

Ice Cream Sundae Bar

Chocolate covered strawberries (or go even better with a chocolate fountain - or both!)

Fresh Fruit

Nuts

Dessert Wines or Champagne

You could also choose desserts from other regions of the country or world, and have a around the world party that is dessert themed. You could include things like flan for Mexico and Croissants for France.

For fun invitation wording: "How Sweet it is...Join us for Dessert!"
